The challenge:

To target parents, gift givers and kids with engaging digital content that both showcases the new Jurassic World range and supports the retailer, toy partner and franchise during the busiest selling period of the year.

Strategy:

Rather than get lost in the myriad toy ads that appear in the lead up to Christmas, we wanted to create an exciting, disruptive ad that brought the Jurassic World toys to life.


Inspired by Jurrasic World’s memorable Indominus attack on the Gyrosphere, we took a traditional festive format and flipped it on its head, creating a thrilling scene that features real toys and simple puppetry to show kids just what can be achieved with a little bit of imagination.


Our 20” cinema spot and online spot showcased all of the features of the new toy in a uniquely fun way, making it stand out from the crowd when released on Smyths social channels.

The Results

Our beautifully executed concept was a step away from the client’s usual productions, but one that they absolutely loved. Not only did it bring Jurassic World back to the big screen but it reached over half a million views on YouTube as of January 2020.
